Skate for Survivors

I have officially lost the plot and decided to take on a monumental challenge… I have decided to blade 85 miles in one day. Yes you heard right, blade… Crazy, yes I am aware it is a tall order and realise I am going to be in need of a blister plaster or two but I am doing this for a fantastic cause.

This August I will be flying to Germany to take on the annual Rhine on skates tour and here’s why….

I want to raise awareness about sexual violence and rape, not many people are aware but approximately 85,000 women are raped in England and Wales alone every year, that’s roughly 11 rapes (of adults alone) every hour. One of the scariest facts that really stuck in our minds were that approximately 90% of those who are raped know the perpetrator. 

I therefore want to do want we can to raise £900 for Rape Crisis (Wycombe, Chiltern and South Buckinghamshire), a charity that
provide free counselling and care to women who have suffered sexual abuse.
