Melissa is skiing 4 John...

John Titmuss died on 29th January doing something he loved; skiing… just far too early!
John was just 56 when he died, just retired (well part-retired) and looking forward to doing lots of stuff with his life, his family and friends.
His wife and son, Karen and Luke, have chosen the charity Snow-Camp to reflect John's love of skiing and his career in HR which focused so much on personal development and inspiring people to fulfil their potential. Snow-Camp uses snow sports as a way of engaging with inner-city youngsters to help them develop skills and motivation for a better future.
My husband, Mark, has known John 38 years, since university. I came to know John and his son Luke through the love of skiing …the fact we live in the French Alps probably helped! Mark was with John on that last day skiing while I was away on a cross-country ski trip to Germany.
It seems right to do something in memory of John involving skiing, so Switzerland here I come. I have been learning skate skiing (a form of cross country skiing) for 4 years but this will be the first time that I have attempted a marathon (42km for heavens sake, Mark, Karen and Luke think I am mad). On 8th of March 14199 others and I will ski the 52nd Engadin ski marathon, conditions allowing of course!
So please help raise money for a cause that John would truly approve of and give young people who have had a tough start in life the opportunity to learn and grow through the joy of skiing.
My target is set at £1400, just £25 for each year of his life but I know we can beat that, maybe even £100 for each year???
