Story
The Heart of Kent Hospice is a charity that runs solely on donations. They provide comfort and care to those who are suffering from various life-limiting illnesses and enable people to pass pain-free and peacefully in the presence of family and close friends. This is why it is vital for us to meet our target.
Each one of us has had first-hand experience with family members or close friends battling different forms of illnesses, and we can all fully understand the part the hospice plays in making a difference and improving quality of life for those who are seriously and terminally ill. We strongly admire the hospice for what they do and the amazing people that work there.
As a group, we have collectively decided to complete a skydive, from 12,000 feet, on the 22nd of March 2015. We see this as a great opportunity to do something different and embrace everything around us whilst raising money for a brilliant charity. We are looking at this experience in an extremely positive way. We know that during the skydive we will be scared for a very short time, which, in comparison, is nothing to many others within the hospice who face far greater problems.
We are attempting to raise this money through school fundraising activities e.g. leg waxing, quiz nights, collections in Maidstone town and other donations.
We have seen the difference that the hospice can make and we know that they need these donations to continue to change people's lives.
Any donation will be gratefully received, no matter how big or small, and we hope many of you can support us in helping us to reach our target. We believe that together, we can make a difference.
