The London/Surrey Classic 100

London/Surrey 100 · 2 August 2015
Having been involved in a serious cycling accident in 2008, and being told at the John Radcliffe A&E that my cycle helmet saved my life, it was an easy decision to make, when I began visiting our local Oxfordshire Primary Schools, and tell my story to the children and staff.
My presentations were featured in the Oxford Mail, and I appeared on BBC Radio Oxford telling my story about the accident, and my visits to the schools.
I was asked by the team at I.M.P.S Oxford if I could help them get the importance of cycle helmets over to year 6 pupils who visit the Hospital for their Safety Training day.
INJURY MINIMIZATION PROGRAM for SCHOOLS, specialize in teaching our children how to avoid accidents at home, school and on the road. The coach ride to the Hospital is sometimes the only reason these children cannot attend, because the school cannot afford to fund it.
This is where I come in,
I have been given a "Golden Ticket" for the 2015 London/Surrey Classic 100 mile cycle ride. It follows the Olympic Games road race route, and competition for tickets is often tougher than the ride itself as tickets are normally issued by ballot, and here are certain criteria that need to be met, before having a ticket allocated to the rider.
By supporting my efforts, together we can allow our children/grandchildren the chance to get the valuable training that may one day save a life, be it theirs, or someone else's.
This one is for my Mum & Dad who I miss every day, and also my dear friend Heinrich who left us on 4th June 2015, cycling will never be the same.
Please take a look at www.impsweb.co.uk and see the valuable work they do.
