Story

As some of you are aware my son Reece, has multiple food allergies and isn't allowed MILK, EGGS, PEANUTS and NUTS. He has had allergies since birth.
Allergies are the body's response to a substance called an allergen. Allergens themselves may not be harmful. However, in Reece's case, things that are usually harmless can provoke a reaction. An Allergic reaction varies and includes many different symptoms. Some reactions can be severe and life threatening, this is called anaphylaxis.

Reece has been given a device known as an auto-injector pen, which contains doses of adrenaline that can be used in emergencies and has to be carried at all times, as well as a bottle of antihistamine. Unfortunately, I have had to use the Epipen (epinephrine injection) a number of times and dial 999, where Reece has been rushed into A&E.
Seeing my child suffer, struggle to breath as his airways tighten, covered in hives and itch away, as Reece says it feels as if his body is on fire has been the most scariest thing and heartbreaking experience I've had to witness, feeling helpless, scared and only hoping and praying for the best. No mother wants their baby to suffer and be in any pain.
It has been a very tough and difficult journey for Reece and myself, as allergic reactions can be extremely serious. Thankfully, as Reece is getting older, he is more aware of his allergies and understands the importance and reasons to why he isn't allowed certain food. Sadly, Reece is very sensitive that the smell of nuts can trigger him off to have an allergic reaction at times.

On Tuesday the 10th January 2017, Reece had a severe allergic reaction after he stepped out of the swimming pool after his lesson finished. It was heartbreaking and something I will never forget. We will never no the cause of it, we can only presume somebody had eaten peanuts or had oils or creams on their body that contained peanut etc, it's not the chlorine as he's been swimming for years.

Some of you may laugh, think I'm crazy or say I'm mad, but watching my boy cry and suffer, as he had an allergic reaction, only I know what I had to witness, whilst I rushed him to hospital. Reece, having the reaction has inspired me and motivated me to help those with allergies, like my son and my youngest twin nephew Karam, who has a peanut allergy too.

As I always say and strongly believe, we should help someone without any expectation of repayment. Therefore, I am to do a charity tandem skydive, all in aid for allergy uk.

I would be truly grateful if you could kindly donate (sponsor me) and help me raise money all for a good cause and support those who suffer with allergies. I'm not asking for much, whatever you could spare. Every penny will help make a difference.
Thank you for your generosity.

Kind regards
Sonia
