Virgin London Marathon 2012 · 22 April 2012 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Hey,

Thanks for visiting my just giving page.

This winter I've decided to lock the high tops away and replace Sunday morning hangovers with sub zero runs... Why?

I'm running the London Marathon for the Alzheimer's Society, a charity that my family and I support after my Grandfather suffered from Alzheimers. It's a super charity that really makes a difference to those with dementia and helps fund research to find a cure.

Any donation will go a long way but just to give you an idea...

£5 could pay for someone with dementia to attend a 1/2 hour support session

£50 could fund 1 day of research by a PhD student

£500 could pay for 2 training sessions for 12 carers

Before I get anywhere near the start I'm going to have to run roughly 400 miles (the length of the country!) - I expect most of them will be in the rain! Any sponsorship would be much appreciated and gratefully recieved by both myself and the society.

Thanks a bunch,

Sonia x
