When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Every year, an estimated 150,000 people in the UK have a stroke. That’s one person every five minutes. Stroke is the leading cause of severe disability and the third biggest killer in the UK, after cancer and heart disease. More than 250,000 people in the UK live with disabilities caused by a stroke.

The Stroke Association is the only charity solely concerned with preventing stroke and ensuring that everyone touched by stroke across the UK gets the help they need.

i wanted to do something to raise money for this worthy cause following the affect that stroke has had on my friends grandma.

We will be doing a 5K fun run/walk on Sunday 20th June, dressed as superheroes! An event definately worth supporting :)

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you
