We are not what you would call naturally sporty and our talents certainly do not lie on the sports field. However, this year in October we will take part in the Great North Run in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. We are not doing this for the amusement of our friends and family, despite what they all seem to think, but for our friend who has Cystic Fibrosis.

We have always felt useless in our friend's battle against Cystic Fibrosis but now we have found a way to help and it is for this reason that we have now spent a small fortune on our running outfits and finally started to do some much needed exercise.

In running for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust we hope to raise money that will go towards gene therapy and hopefully in the not to distant future find a cure!  The run will be pure hell for us and we will hate every step of it but it is a cause that we feel very strongly about and something that really means a lot to us and others around us.

People who suffer from Cystic Fibrosis are forever fighting a losing battle and are some of the bravest people in the world. The disease often demands that the suffer takes up to sixty pills a day, enzyme tablets,  has hour upon hour of physiotherapy, and injects and inhales drugs daily all just to live a relatively normal life. To do this and not wallow in self pity seems to be incomprehensible but these people get on and do it.
