Story
The goal of the food pantry is to provide support for food-insecure students at South Seattle College. Due to continued rising grocery costs and other barriers, at least 50% of South Seattle students are food insecure. By providing a small, reliable source of free food on campus, we strive to reduce one basic need barrier for students to achieve their academic goals.
Open two days each week, the food pantry serves an average of 150 students each week, with over 1,000 student check-ins per quarter. Our students can choose from various shelf-stable groceries, toiletries, diapers, and fresh food items.
