Story
Thanks for visiting my page!
On August 10th 2014, I am riding 100 miles from London to Surrey to raise money for London Youth, a charity which works with local community organisations to provide opportunities for young people.
I became involved with London Youth as a young person in 2012 - a couple of months later, I was heading out to my local shop in Hackney when I was caught up in random gang violence and shot in the leg as I ran. I still made it home in record time, even with the bullet in my leg! London Youth staff supported me throughout my recovery and this year I became a full-time employee at London Youth, taking on the role of IT Assistant, as well as continuing on the Talent Match London board to help other young people into employment.
This cycle will be my second major sporting event I’ve been able to participate in since being shot, the first being RunHackney’s Half Marathon, and I’m really excited to be able to raise money for such a good cause, and for a charity that has helped me so much. To make it even better, I’m cycling alongside my best friend Daniel since we were 4 years old, who has really been there for me over the last year and loves cycling!
Many of you will know that I now work for London Youth and would have heard me talk about the important work that we do. Anything you can afford will be put to good use, so thanks very much for reading and for your support!
