Emergency foodpacks & Christmas meals

Rory Traynor is raising money for Start Up Stirling

Foodbank Christmas Dinners · 14 October 2022

Start Up Stirling helps those in hardship throughout Stirlingshire by providing starter packs to help make a house a home. Delivering crisis food support through our foodbanks and mobile delivery service for rural clients. Offering support to help address long-term causes of difficulty

Story

Although somewhat overshadowed by the circus that is No. 10 at the moment, this week has seen yet more news of increasing foodbank use and concerns around stock levels not being able to meet demand this winter.

As a Trustee of Start Up Stirling, an independent foodbank charity here in Scotland, the winter ahead is worrying, so I'm doing what any Fundraiser does naturally...I'm fundraising! I'm not doing a run/walk/skydive, simply appealing to my network to try and raise £500 (up to £310 so already ☺) to help towards our emergency foodpacks and the Christmas meals we will be distributing this winter.

- £10 could fund a three-course Christmas meal (fresh soup, full turkey (or vegetarian/vegan) dinner and a pudding - all just needs warmed up) to someone facing hardship this year.

- £20 could fund an emergency foodpack with enough essentials and fresh food to support an individual for 3-4 days when facing a crisis.

I appreciate everyone is feeling the impact of cost of living right now but if you can afford to donate, it'd be hugely appreciated. Thank you 💜
