When I was 13, my 9 year old little brother was diagnosed with a brain tumour in the cerebellum at the back of his head. He was rushed into hospital that day, and what was meant to be a 3 hour operation turned out to be 11 hours. One week later he woke up having been in a coma in the intensive care unit and five weeks, a case of meningitis and five operations later, he was discharged. He had to relearn how to walk, talk and function because his coordination and balance had been reset. 

Henry and I are running the London Marathon in support of all the wonderful doctors and nurses who helped him through his time at GOSH, and also in memory of his consultant Mr William Harkness who sadly passed away this year.
