I was just planning to do the Stafford half marathon the day before my 50th birthday... that's enough of a celebration for a casual runner. But then the week before the big event in March 2022 I got the email that I had hoped for, for many years; a LONDON MARATHON ballot place!! 

So here we are 6 months later and I have done the training and I have dodgy feet to prove it. 

I have chose the Charlie Ramsey charity for 2 reasons. 1 - its a lovely little charity with a big heart. They currently focus on putting defibrillators, for children or adults into locations in communities around the Midlands. The 2nd reason is that they believed in me several years ago to try and do this for them and I had to pull out which meant letting the charity down. I have never forgotten how disappointed I felt in myself for having to let them down. Time to repay the kindness they showed to me so many years ago. 

Running this far is not easy. I am not going to lie I am finding it pretty tough this time around... actually I think I found it hard all the other times too but none the less - I will be very grateful to any and all the support you give. 

When I run I do try and remember that having a body that is capable of running any distance is a gift. So any money to sponsor this madness is greatly received.
