Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Because I'm going to climb Mt Vinson in Antarctica this December, something that I feel very lucky to be able to do, I want to raise as much money as possible for Parkinson's UK, the charity that provides help to people with, and funds research into treatment for, Parkinsons. Every hour, someone in the UK is diagnosed with Parkinsons, a degenerative neurological condition for which there is currently no cure.

Vinson is the highest peak in Antarctica at 4,892m, and is completely remote, being situated in the Ellsworth mountains. It's not very technical to climb, but is a serious undertaking because of the conditions. The average temperature in December (summer there) is -30 deg C. In sponsoring me, you'll give me an added incentive to make it as far as I can, and raise money for a worthwhile cause.

Importantly, all of your donation will go to the charity via JustGiving - none of the money raised goes towards my expedition! Once you donate, JustGiving send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Please donate now. Thank you very much,

Stephanie
