Story

Ron Lloyd was born in Aston, Birmingham in 1939 and spent his entire working life as an employee of the Lucas group of companies in the Birmingham area. He worked initially as a draughtsman, drawing components for the Aerospatiale-BAC Concorde, along with the TSR II project amongst many others.

In the mid-1970's he moved into Personnel, heading up the management training programme for Luca Aerospace. The annual highlight of this role was the university milk-round, where the brightest and best students were sought each year from universities around the UK for employment within the management programme.

Ron believed passionately in education for all, especially those less fortunate. Hailing from modest beginnings himself, he always strove for the underdog and fought to right and injustice. The intention of this donation therefore is to honour that spirit and belief, whilst also paying tribute to the life and memory of Ron Lloyd (1939-2022)
