Story

Hello folks!!!

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

As some of you may know already but for those of you that don’t, after almost a decade of feeding a very bad pointless habit, on the 11th of March 2009 National No Smoking Day.. I finally found the will power, determination & motivation to kick the bad habit & give up smoking for good and I have never felt better & healthier since.

To celebrate this momentous occasion and make the most of my new found health, fitness, stamina, endurance, happiness, & ofcourse... ‘fresh breath’ I have decided to set myself a challenge and take upon the following very difficult task, mission to mark this special occasion so I ask for your help & support folks!

On the 18th of May 2009 I will be attempting to walk the ‘West Highland Way’ in aid of Cancer Research UK, a charity which marks this momentous occasion perfectly and a charity which is very close to my heart after loosing numerous very close family members over the years and particularly, following recent events which involved the death of a well known celebrity through cervical cancer, it really makes you think, why do we encourage cancer when there are less fortunate people out there fighting to survive another day especially those at such young ages & certainly not through any choice of their own!

MY :

The West Highland Way was ’s first official long distance route. Originally conceived in the 1960s, it was completed in October 1980. The Way links Milngavie to Fort William – a distance of 152km (95 miles) YES 95 MILES!! lol - from the outskirts of Scotland’s largest city (Glasgow) to the foot of its highest mountain (Fort William), following the shores of its largest freshwater loch. It passes from the lowlands, across the Highland Boundary Fault and on into the Scottish Highlands. This task will be completed on foot with ONLY my rucksack containing the necessities I will need to survive over the period of 5 days with NO public transport or any help from any third parties, NO spare luggage & and I will be sleeping rough for 4 nights regardless of the weather conditions. I am currently training very hard & I completed my 1st trial long distance walk the other day form Falkirk to Edinburgh (27 miles) but ended up with 4 nasty blisters on my feet, 2 on each foot the size of tennis balls and I could barely walk for a 2 days so this is by no means an easy task so I will be preparing and training even harder for this task.

Please, Please, Please get in touch people & help me support this worthwhile cause. Please donate generously but if not then think about this… What is 1 less alcoholic drink on the weekend or 1 less packet of cigarettes to help save a life?? It’s not too much to ask is it?

For those that wish to help, support me & donate any money please contact me on here or on my mobile which is 07840 497 907

Donations can be very easily made either in person, by post or on here so NO excuses folks!!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

I will be updating this throughout the weeks with your kind donations so the more generous the better folks!

Thanks for reading.

Kindest Regards

Steven Ho
