Story

We are a group of local high-school and uni students whose educations have been put on hold and want to use our time and skills to help the community so decided to learn to sew scrunchies in aid of the Stockport Women's Centre.

Scrunchies are available for a recommended donation of £5. Please message our Facebook https://www.facebook.com/stockportskrunchies/ or Instagram https://www.instagram.com/sk_runchies/ pages to see the full collection of patterns and place an order.

We need your help. The impacts of the Coronavirus situation are having a substantial impact on the number of calls we are receiving asking for our help. In the last 4 weeks alone we have seen an uplift of 70% in calls to our centre. We know our services are needed now more than ever before, particularly as lockdown has put increased pressure on isolated women, but the current situation is putting some vital aspects of our work at risk. We are heavily reliant on fundraising income to continue what we do. All our fundraising events are on hold, we are applying for other funds via grants but these take time and are not guaranteed. We rely on receiving approximately £5000 income from fundraising events each year. We are in urgent need of replacing the lost income to continue our work in supporting the women of Stockport, so please if you are able to make a donation we would be so grateful.
