8.4 million people in the UK are struggling to afford to eat - thats the equivalent of the entire population of London! We wanted to do our little bit at Stockwood Park Academy to help them through a sponsored fastathon.

Getting involved is really straightforward. Simply skip lunch on Friday 23rd June 2017 and donate your lunch money to support the great work of Fareshare, who save good, excess food and send it to charities and community groups who transform it into nutritious meals for vulnerable people. The food is fresh, quality and in date surplus from the food industry and their partner charities can be found across the UK.

This is especially relevant as millions of Muslims are fasting for the whole month of Ramadan during May so we thought it would be a great way of experiential learning while supporting a good cause.

Anyone can get involved and you don't need to fast the whole day or even stop drinking water (like the Muslim fast). Support the staff at Stockwood Park Academy by donating here.
