George Byers, the Strathspey full back was unfortunate to be involved with a serious injury during

the first game of the current season in Stornaway.

Seven months on, George has recently undergone complex and uncertain surgery which is hoped to

restore some function to his smashed knee and allow him to resume at least some aspect of his work.

He is expected to require further surgery in Edinburgh in due course.

The Scottish Rugby Union have supported George and his business by accessing some financial

support from the ‘Murrayfield Fund’ which provides assistance to injured Scottish rugby players.

So please dig deep and donate now and support the fund to offer critical help to other players in great need.

About the charity

The Fund, set up in Scottish Rugby's centenary season 1972-73, focuses on providing assistance to injured Scottish rugby players and is financially and administratively independent. Since its inception, it has assisted a number of players with short or longer term injuries, with the help and support they needed.
