Dan's Stupid Bird Tattoo To Raise Money For Charity · 31 October 2016

The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.

Story

Hi,

my name is Dan and I'm 27yrs old.

When I was 5 I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. I survived thanks to the amazing care I received and the technologies and medicines that were available at the hospitals I was treated in.

A large part of my treatment took place The Christie, one of Europe's leading cancer centres. They saved my life. I'd like to raise some money to help children going through the same things I did at that age in that hospital.

I'd joked for a while about 'getting a stupid tattoo to raise money for charity' but never actually looked into it properly.

One day recently in work a colleague was 'drawing tattoos' of very questionable quality on the staff in the office, I asked her to design me a 'cool looking crow'. The resulting bird picture was hilariously bad, I offered to get it permanently on my skin if everyone in the room donated £20 there and then.

Nobody had £20 there and then but everyone universally supported the idea, which was a nice motivation to finally do what I said I'd do for ages so I said I'd make a just giving page instead.

If we manage to donate £400 to the cause by 31st October and I'll get this stupid bird tattooed on my arm forever.

£5 - Suggested donation, but please give more if you have it.
Do it for the lolz.

Thanks!

(if all goes well I'll be adjusting the target and date. I hope that happens. Do it. Do it for the lolz.)
