British Gas Great East Swim 2012 · 16 June 2012 ·

Someone is reported missing every 90 seconds in the UK. Missing People offers a lifeline to the 170,000 people who go missing every year. We are there for those left behind, we provide specialised support to ease the heartache and confusion, and search for their missing loved ones.

Story

We are delighted to be taking part as a team in the Great East Swim and to be able to use this as an opportunity to raise money for a charity that we know does incredible work and makes a real difference to people when they most need support.  As police officers we see the devastating impact on families like Nicki's when a loved one disappears, which is why we want to raise money for Missing People.  We know the vitally important role they play, not just in providing specialised help to ease the enormous heartache and confusion for those left behind, but also in extending a crucial lifeline to those who run away or go missing.  Even if we don't get to raise the team challenge trophy on the 16th, we will still take great pride in doing 'our bit'  to help Missing People continue their work.
So please dig deep and donate now.
