I will be kayaking and stand up paddle boarding the main rivers in Suffolk, collecting and recording litter with a specific focus on plastic bottles. I will plot these finds in an attempt to discover any patterns, trends or hotspots and raise awareness of the impact of plastic pollution. 

It will be a year-long challenge and I will regularly complete sections of the these rivers during 2017....as long as conditions allow! The rivers are approximately 50 miles in total, however as there are two banks to each river I'll be paddling a lot more than that!

My aim is to:

• Raise awareness of the impact of marine litter.

• Raise support for Surfers Against Sewage marine litter campaigns, especially the 'Message in a Bottle' campaign which is calling for a nationwide Deposit Return System (DRS)

• I am also completing this as part of my Gold Duke of Edinburgh award!
