Summer Serenade in aid of Myeloma UK · 12 May 2013

Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. We make it possible to live longer and better lives with myeloma. Through research and treatments, we find new ways to a cure. Together, we are the cure.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page which has been set up to raise funds for Myeloma UK.

On the 13th of July 2013 I am organising a concert in aid of Myeloma UK in the Huddersfield Town Hall 7.30pm  which will feature the Clifton and Lightcliffe Brass Band and the Halifax Amateur Operatic Society.

Myeloma UK are a charity close to my heart as 3 years ago my husband, David, was diagnosed with a low grade myeloma and an aggressive form of AL amyloidosis. The charity have been extremely supportive to both myself and David and continue to be so. They do not receive any government funding and so all their operations have to be funded through fund raising.

This concert is being organised as my way of thanking Myeloma UK for all their support and to help fund further research into Amyloidosis and Myeloma to find better and safer treatments and to also help support future patients and their families.

Since I began rganising this concert Davids condition has started to get worse and he is about to start another round of treatment. This time it is more complicated as he is having dialysis now as the amyloid has stopped his kidneys working. Not many people on dialysis have had this treatment so hopefully it will not pose too many problems.

The concert will take place on Saturday the 13th of July however if you are unable to come but would like to help support this event please make a donation through my page to help Myeloma UK continue to do their work.
