Story
The sports industry has thrown down a gauntlet to its various members and invited them to compete in the 3 Peak Challenge and being a competitive bunch here at The Sports Recruitment Company we couldn’t resist the opportunity to test ourselves in the name of a worthy cause.
The challenge is to scale the 3 highest peaks in the land in less than 24 hours as a team competing against other sporting companies. Teams will be made up of 3 climbers and a driver and the route will take on Ben Nevis, followed by Scafell Pike and culminating in the ascent of Snowdon. In total the climbers will have climbed a gruelling 3,407m in less than a full day – a physically and mentally demanding test by any measure.
The method behind the madness is to raise as much money as humanly possible for Greenhouse Schools Project. Greenhouse uses the power of sport to teach vulnerable and disadvantaged 11-16 year olds life and social skills, using facilities at leading independent schools to which they would not otherwise have.
We are all well aware of the power that sport has to effect change in people’s lives and the more we can do to increase that the better. We are in a privileged position of ability and opportunity and this is a fantastic chance to maximise that for the benefit of others less fortunate than ourselves.
The climbing team will be made up of Jane Grant , Dan Mahoney and Oli Guthrie and will be more than ably supported by the driver Petula Bell.
With the challenge looming quite literally large on the 12th of July any donation you can make will be fantastically appreciated.
Many thanks for your support.
