Supporting Williams fight against Diamond Blackfan Anaemia

various · 21 May 2019
William is 15 years old and suffers from a rare bone marrow failure disease called Diamond Blackfan Anaemia Syndrome (DBAS). He receives regular blood transfusions every 3 weeks in order to keep him alive. To date he has received 250 blood transfusions! He also has various other medical procedures and receives treatment for the build up of iron in his body caused by all the blood transfusions.DBAS is a life long, life threatening illness and can have many serious side effects along the way.As a family we are desperate to promote awareness of the disease and the importance of giving blood. We would like anyone considering a fundraising event to think about raising money for DBAS UK.Alternatively, if you would like to make a donation, no matter the amount, we would truly appreciate it.DBAS UK is a small charity and relies on a very small number of people to fundraise to provide money to fund vital research into this disease. We need to keep the research happening!!!!William is affected by this illness every single day of his life and we would love to support the charity that has supported us so much over the years since William was only a few months old.Our hope is that one day a cure will be found to help William and other sufferers of this awful disease. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
