Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

Failed to start London Marathon 2010 (page wont let me edit it out). It's going to be Barcelona Marathon 2011 instead. Deafblind is one word (I didn't know) that means you're BOTH  deaf AND blind. I'm stating the obvious to stress the importance of the work of charities such as Sense do in supporting deafblind children and adults in areas suchs as education, housing, empolyment and leisure.

£5 could pay for musical bells to help stimulate even tiniest amount of deafblind child's hearing in music therapy.
£25 could buy an interactive light tube to help stimulate a deafblind child’s remaining sight.
£250 could kit out a home with sensory 'trails' enabling deafblind residents to identify rooms, stairs etc and enabling to live in a secure environment.

All donations go to Sense and gift aid will be claimed on the charity’s behalf.  Thankyou.
