We support young people by connecting them with the skills, networks, platforms and experiences to lead change.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. Raleigh International will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in gift aid will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

In order to support the project within the host country I need your help to raise in excess of £1,100. which covers equipment and material costs for the project within the host country.

Raleigh International is a UK charity (No. 1047653) with 20yrs experience.  Its aim is to inspire people from all backgrounds and nationalities to reach their full potential by working together on challenging environmental and community projects around the world. Each Raleigh expedition has around 35 staff and up to 140 young people (ages 17-25).

In September I hope to be spending nearly four months working as a volunteer staff member on behalf of Raleigh International in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. In order for the project to succeed I am asking for your support in my fundraising efforts.

I shall be going as an expedition doctor. In addition to this I shall also be involved with projects as diverse as: - constructing suspension bridges - building community centres - tracking and recording endangered species for the Darwin Initiative If you would like more detailed information about Raleigh International, please visit http://www.raleighinternational.org or just ask me.

Having got through the selection process (which involved wading chest deep through a stagnant swamp and orienteering through pitch-black forests in the middle of the night in order to find the food drops).  I am keen to raise the money.....so, in the coming months I shall be engaging in other fundraising events such as fun-runs  and the Brecon Beacons Challenge which is held each July.  In order to achieve, and hopefully exceed, my target for this fun adventure and worthwhile charity.

I thank you in advance for your support and generous donations.
