Eastside is raising funds to give young poets from across the country a travel bursary to be able to come perform their work live, no matter their means, at I know, I wish, I will, a momentous 25 hour spoken-word poetry marathon in London's West End.

Story

I am the CEO of Eastside Educational Trust and I am swimming 25 kilometres to represent Eastside's 25 year history of delivering creative and cultural opportunities to those young people most in need.

Day 1 of my swim is dedicated to raising funds for Eastside's world record breaking national project 'I know I wish I will' which culminates in a 25 hour youth led spoken word poetry marathon delivered by thousands of young people from across the country on the West End Stage on World Poetry Day.  Full details:  knowwishwill.com

Day 2 of my swim is dedicated to raising funds for our powerful programmes of work across London, enriching school life for thousands of young people living in the most deprived communities for whom art and culture is often remote and inaccessible.

Day 3 of my swim is dedicated to raising funds for the newly launched Lund Fund -  in memory of my late and great English teacher David Lund, whose family generously gifted Eastside £10,000 as part of a beautiful legacy gift to introduce art, culture and creative programmes to young people experiencing the most challenging circumstances.  We wish to build that gift into a £1 million to support the lives of young people who need it most across our country.   www.eastside.org.uk/support_us/the_lund_fund

Your help and support is deeply appreciated.  Thank you for giving and helping Eastside change the lives of thousands of young people.
