Arrived back in Scotland safely on the October 27th. after a challenging fortnight both trekking wise and morally.
When one visits a third world country it is always an eye opener and Nepal certainly leaves one thinking about those things we allow to stress us in our own comparatively cosseted lives.
No sore knees or ankles this trip but I did suffer from altitude sickness this time which surprised me as we were about 400 metres lower than my last trip. Fortunately, I gradually got back to my old self as we began to descend, on our Everest viewing day.
Nepal is beautiful, bizarre, friendly and well worth a visit. The tourist industry seems to support a great number of ordinary people who would find life more difficult than it already is without it.
Thank you for supporting my chosen charity Music in Hospitals, Scotland.
In April I visited Orkney with musical friends of mine forming the group ROSALBA.
They visited many of Orkney's old peoples' homes, hospitals and day centres. To have witnessed the power of music in action revitalising and uplifting so many folks' souls was a joy and a privelege to behold!
This page will remain open into the new year if you know of anyone else who may wish to contribute.
It is important and great work that this worthwhile charity is involved in.
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
