Story

Hey!

My name is Harley Freedman. I am 16 years old. I am raising money for people who can't afford wilderness therapy. I got sent to wilderness therapy on June 10th, 2021. I went to BlueFire in Idaho. Looking back at my experience at wilderness, I think it was honestly one of the best decisions my parents could've done for me. I grew so much as a person and learned many skills to help me with the problems I was struggling with before going. It was extremely challenging but it saved my life and I will forever be grateful for my experience at wilderness. I was struggling badly before wilderness. I was in a PHP and IOP program before but nothing was helping. It felt like my life was falling apart, my anxiety and depression were getting worse, and I struggled with suicidal ideation and lost value in life.  When I first got to wilderness therapy I was so mad at my parents but after a bit, I got used to being in the desert and started to work on myself.

I want to raise money for people who cannot afford wilderness because I think that everyone deserves a chance to work on themselves like how I was able to. The average cost for wilderness therapy is around $600 a day.

I've come so far in my treatment process and I just want to give back to others. I will be holding an event on August 6th, 2022  (more information to follow).
