Story

The event: IRONMAN – the endurance triathlon
2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle, 26.2 mile run

Please sponsor me & make my pain worthwhile!

Ok it might be borderline madness, my social life is suffering, I’m neglecting friends, my whole body feels weather beaten & I’m turning into a sports geek…

Yes, yes I hear you asking “Why?”
…the honest answer is to see if I can, and amazingly, I’m looking forward to it!

There are 23 countries worldwide that host the Ironman race. The hills & weather of the IMUK can make it a tough one. 1500 people mass start in a lake in the magnificent grounds of Sherborne Castle, Dorset.
All IM races have a 17 hour cut off time… I’m guessing my running technique might become more of a survival shuffle to get me through the marathon…

Anyway that’s the easy part.  The challenge is the £1000 I pledged to raise for the good causes of the Rotary Charities –

If you can, please help me reach my fundraising target. Knowing that people have helped raise money for these charities will give me that much needed extra boost & encouragement on those many, MANY occasions when I’ll be wondering if it’s all worth it.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. If you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
