I took up stand-up paddleboarding in August 2020, as the joys of being in my 40's and the resulting age-related infirmities meant i had to give up surfing, It really helped with my mental health and dealing with the chaos that Covid19 unceremoniously threw into my life.

A little less than a year on i find myself entering my first competitive race! So what better to spur me on with my training than a little incentive of trying to get 160km under my belt in 8 weeks!! The final 10km of the challenge will be the race itself, in Cardiff on Sept 25th!

I'll be fundraising for 2 charities that resonate with where my life has taken me over these past 7 years. HimFertility and Covid:Aid

- HimFertility: Coming to terms with being childless has been (and will continue to be) hard. But we stand strong, and with support from friends, family and each other we always will.

But if i had known of charities like HimFertility.com (AKA FertilityNetworkUK) back then, our journey might have been easier, For that reason i am fundraising for HimFertility/FertilityNetworkUK, in the hope that people like us find some comfort, support and answers.

- Covid:Aid: Back in April 2020 i lost my father to Covid19. 2 of my closest friends in their early 40's have been left living a complex life with long-covid. For them i want to make a difference, for them i paddle.
