Story
Hi, I'm Calum. I am playing golf for a straight 21 hours to raise money for Copelands Carehome and Alzheimer's Society. The question is, why? I began playing golf when I was 5 years old. Every Sunday, I would play with my dad and grandad John McDaid - I looked forward to it all week. Three generations of McDaid boys, playing golf together, it felt very special.
Unfortunately, 3 years ago my grandad John was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and was admitted into Copelands Care home last year. Unfortunately, due to this terrible disease my grandad has been unable to return to the golf course. However, he has been enjoying life in Copelands with the incredible staff. I'm looking forward to this opportunity to give back to a care home and organisation that has done so much for my family. I would be thrilled to raise enough money to provide support to find a cure for this horrible disease - what a wonderful 21st Birthday gift that would be.
Please try and keep donations as equal as possible between Belfast Central Mission and Alzheimer's Society!
Thank you for any support given!
Calum.
