Every morning we wake up to news of the latest horrors in the Middle East. I can't complain though unless I do all I can to try to bring about some change.

So I'm spending 5 days cycling down from North Yorkshire to London, arriving on the morning of 8 November, which will be 398 days since 7 October 2023.

My route is therefore 398 km, almost 250 miles, and I'm ending in Downing Street where I aim to meet Keir Starmer. I was going out to Israel and the West Bank that week but there are fewer flights all the time, and in that case I've got to do something here. If you are able and would like, please support one of my two chosen charities who are both trying all they can to help the situation on the ground, through healthcare and humanitarian support generally. Amos Trust and MAP are great ambassadors for those in the region, we should encourage them.

I've not cycled this far for nearly 40 years, my right hip is a bit dodgy and it's getting colder out there. However....
