Raising money for Refuge

Refuge opened the world’s first refuge in West London in 1971. We support thousands of women & children every day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.

Story

Clare Reed, Hollie Dearman, Holly Gradwell, Marilize Otto, and Keeley Patten, all good friends who have know each other for many years; through working together and socially, are raising money for Refuge during the COVID-19 lockdown period. We have used the 2.6 or 26 mile challenge to ensure that everyone knows why we are raising this money. Please donate to Clare Reed's page and all donations go to Refuge.

For the time that the UK Coronavirus lockdown lasts, starting from today, 26.04.20, each of us will complete, on one day in each week that we are in lockdown (most likely we will all do this on a Sunday), an activity that involves the numbers 2.6 or 26. We have all achieved this today, with one of us completing a 26 mile bike ride around London, three of us doing 2.6 mile runs (and a bit more to boot), and one completing a hardcore cross-fit workout in under 26 minutes - including pull-ups, pushups, sit-ups and jumping lunges - not for the faint hearted! ;)

Please please support us all to fundraise for this amazing charity. It's charity close to our hearts and it supports women and children experiencing domestic violence - in a time like we are in now, it is likely to be a very frightening time for people experiencing this at home. Please help us help Refuge makes someone's life easier and keep them safe from harm.

All the best,

From the girls :)
