Story
Why the Merton Chamber Champs are Supporting Merton Giving?
The uncertainty of recent times is presenting a range of challenges for our communities and now, more than ever, our local charity sector is vital to the on-going health and well-being of our borough.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on charities with the cancellation of fundraising events and with a corresponding negative impact on incomes. Coupled with an unprecedented increase in demand on some charities services, the sector is under huge pressure. All proceeds from our 2.6 Challenge will go towards the Merton Giving Coronavirus Fund – a source of financial support for local charitable organisations.
Donations and Fundraising

Save the UK's Charities
General fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income.
This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.
