The Enable Magazine Team are raising funds for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation

Walking a combined 104 miles, the team at Enable Magazine is set to don their brightest blue and yellow tartan to help raise vital funds for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation at this year’s Virtual Kiltwalk.

Having worked closely with rugby legend Doddie Weir in the past, the team is committed to helping to raise further awareness of Doddie’s work to help find a cure for people living with motor neurone disease (MND).

Across the UK, there is an estimated 5,000 people living with MND and around 11,000 people are diagnosed annually. Unfortunately, MND is a life-limiting, terminal condition with no known cure.

After revealing his MND diagnosis in June 2017 on World MND Day, Doddie and the dedicated team at the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation have been working to raise funds to aide in research to discover the causes of MND and investigate potential cures.

Similarly, the foundation also provides invaluable grants to people with MND to help make life as fulfilling as possible.

Speaking to editor Lorne, Doddie said: “It makes me very humble to see what people have been doing behind the scenes. At the charity we’ve had major success, not because of me, but because of the hundreds and thousands of people supporting behind the scenes.”

2021 has already seen significant steps forward in finding a cure for MND, and the Enable Magazine team is dedicated to supporting the cause and helping in any way possible.

We know these are challenging times, and any donation – no matter how small or large – can help to make a significant difference in the lives of people living with MND and their loved ones.

With a combined goal of raising £500, Sir Tom Hunter and The Hunter Foundation will be topping all funds by 50%, any donation you can provide will certainly help spur the team on when they get to those tricky last miles (and the blisters kick in)!
