Story

we sadly lost our Beloved Dad, Grandad, Husband, Brother and Friend very suddenly in January this year to a High Grade Glioblastoma Brain Tumour.

we would like to raise as much money as possible to go towards the research.

thank you so much for reading and donating

we will be doing the walk of hope starting in Sandgate next to the ship Inn where our Dad was born, from there we will be walking along samdgate to seabrook seafront to the fountain Pub where Dad used to like watching a live band in the 90s and have a pint Or 2.

we will then be walking up Horn street to Samian cresent where we moved to as a family in 1985, mum and dad then moved to peene.

onwards down Cheriton high street to pass the White e Lion pub, another fav where he would watch some bands.

ashley avenue is where he enjoyed weight training, and karate, and somerset road where he worked for Matchams as a young man.

from there we will walk towards folkestone town to visit where him and Mum had their first home together in Alexandra Gardens.

we will then meet Mum to visit “their Alley” near Watkin road where they had a smooch or 2 and wrote love notes on the wall.

time to stop at the Black Bull Pub “now the hungry Horse” which was mum and dads local for many years.

onwards to Park view where Dad met Mum at the age of 16 and 14

we then will be visiting George Gurr Cresent where mum and dad lived with us 4 kids until 1985

then we will go to his home where he lived with mum and his dog Bingo until January

ending our walk with a drink at the valiant sailor where his wake was held to complete the full circle of his life.

we hope you can and will donate as much or as little as you can. Thank you from the Hodgkinson Family xxx

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
