Story

Nations in lockdown, widespread uncertainty, hospitals struggling to cope – we’ve seen with our own eyes how devastating coronavirus can be. But for people living in extreme poverty, the impact will be far worse.

We are fundraising for international development and relief charity, Tearfund, so that people living in poverty will be better equipped to deal with the devastation of Covid-19. Each team member is undertaking a different fundraising challenge. Please see our individual pages to learn more about our personal challenges.

Tearfund is starting to see the impact coronavirus is having on some of the poorest communities. In places with poor healthcare and less infrastructure the potential for devastation is immense. Tearfund’s current work involves the promotion of hygiene practices, provision of food for those in quarantine and the construction of hand washing stations. By sponsoring us you will be helping Tearfund support the most vulnerable where the need is greatest.

Any donation at all would be very gratefully received. Thanks so much x

*Our team is called Pamoja, Swahili for together. A couple of our team members have had the privilege of volunteering overseas with Tearfund in Tanzania. During their time there they worked alongside some self-help groups, one of which was called Pamoja. We believe that this name beautifully encaptures the whole ethos of Tearfund's work, joining together and coming alongside people where the need is greatest.
