Story

Update 8th May - This Sunday would normally be Walk the Wight on the Island! We have all completed our miles now and looking forward to receiving our medals. Thank you everyone for your support, you have surpassed our expectations and we are truely grateful.

Update 26 April - Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support. Katie has had some troubles with joining the team page below but has raised her target. Her page and lovely photos of walk can be found here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/katie-cirrone

*** Update 19 April*** A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has donated so far, we have smashed our target of £500 in just one week and this has surpassed our expectations and we know this would make Jeni smile. We are aiming high now at £1,000 for the hospice to remember Jeni and support the COVID-19 outbreak on the island. After this we will turn our focus towards fundraising for Quay Arts so we can support the arts across the whole community, both now and into the future.

The team at Quay Arts are taking part in the 'Walk the Wight Your Way' in memory of our dear colleague, Jeni. Jeni worked in the office at Quay Arts for many years and supported the centre with many art projects, events and exhibitions.

Jeni always wore a positively bright fuchsia pink as her favourite colour, which gave her the nickname ' Pink Jeni'. Her infectious laugh, her creativity (most of us have a piece of the beautiful silver jewellery she made) and her passion for enabling creativity in others, especially children and young people.

Jeni sadly suffered from motor neurone disease and received support from the Mountbatten Nurses throughout her illness and sadly passed away in March 2020.

Sadly because of the outbreak in coronavirus, the team at Quay Arts were unable to celebrate Jeni's life achievements in the way we had planned. As a way to give a little something back and to stay positive during this time, we are taking part in the 'Walk the Wight your Way' in memory of Jeni and to support Mountbatten during this difficult time.
