Im taking part in the Race to the Base in support of my local air ambulance service. The Great North Air Ambulance Service provides world-class, critical care across the North East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria, and Northumberland.

Their doctor-led critical care team delivers life-saving treatments at the scene of an incident whether that is on a fell top, a roadside or in a city centre.

The charity responded to 1,640 emergency call-outs last year*, where they performed treatments and procedures which can mean the difference between life or death.
