We provide specialist care and support to people with life limiting conditions

Story

As many of our members as possible, together with friends, family, supporters and anyone who wanted some incentive to lose some lockdown pounds together jumped on the cattle weighbridge at the H&H auction mart on Thursday 30th September 2021. On Thursday 25th November 2021 we'll repeat the weigh-in, hopefully to find ourselves collectively a huge number of lbs lighter and EVH a huge number of £s heavier! 15 people signed up for the challenge and the total weight loss target is 10 stone! We weighed in at 191 stone!! To be raising money for Eden Valley Hospice should be a huge incentive.

Our club is just a tiny cog in the huge global wheel that is Rotary. It’s one of the three in Carlisle and is the newest, being only 13 years old. At the moment “Castle” is a very small club with only 15 members – like most organisations it can be hard to recruit new members and a pandemic hasn’t helped! We’d love to be welcoming new members and anyone interested in joining can contact us via our Facebook (The Rotary Club of Carlisle Castle) page to find out more. With so few of us, and with many working full-time, there’s a limit to what we can do for our local, national and global communities, but we do as much as we can and it’s particularly important to us that we have fun doing it! As well as our active members we have a group of Friends of the club who we can call on to help out with any of our projects when we need support.

Look out for us out and about with the Santa Sleigh in December!
