Story
As a team - we are preparing to walk across Norwich to raise money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance. Dressed as dinosaurs - we will stomp from the EA Air Ambulance HQ - and migrate towards Norwich Cathedral to meet Dippy!
Each of us has our own personal reasons for wanting to complete this challenge, and raise money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Nigel has been kind enough to share his story...
I just wanted to share how the amazing actions of the East Anglian Air Ambulance have helped me to the point that I will never be able to fully pay them back...
One dark Friday evening in October 2019, my, then 20-year-old, son Jacob suffered a sudden, unexplained cardiac arrest in his student house. As it was after 7 PM, East Anglian Air Ambulance responded in their Critical Care vehicle within 7 minutes. Their prompt response and the fact that there was a doctor in the car, meant that Jacob received critical treatment and medication on the scene that would not have been possible any other way unless admitted to Accident and Emergency at the hospital. Jacob has made a remarkable and full recovery which is a miracle in itself, not only that he caught up on his outstanding studies within the academic year so that he didn’t fall behind and is now poised to start the third year of his degree. As a family, we have since visited the EAAA base where Jacob was able to meet, in person, one of the wonderful doctors that were on the scene first and who worked so hard to save our son on that horrific evening. As a family, we will NEVER be able to thank the EAAA enough, but we can do small things to help keep this amazing service running in our region – which is why I am participating in this charity event.
