If like me, you have been following the journey of Emilia Rose and so desperately want to feel like you can do something to help then you CAN!
I'm Lisa, I used to live in Bermuda and worked as a PT and group fitness Instructor and have a daughter the same age as Emilia. We're now in the UK, I still work in Fitness and when I saw the 10,000 Steps a Day in February Challenge for Brain Tumour Research I knew we could all make a difference and 'do our bit' to raise money and help them get closer to finding a cure.

Whether you use this challenge to get fit, or add an extra 10,000 steps to your day, your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate £5 or £50, every penny makes a real difference - thank you so much for your support. Check out the FB page - 10,000 steps a day in February 2022

Here's Emilia's story

Emilia Rose was diagnosed with a frontal lobe brain tumour on Nov 12th 2021 and it was removed on Nov 21st 2021. Emilia is left with a 12 inch scar, her warrior crown, but this is inconsequential compared to the damage caused by the tumour and the surgery which you cannot see.

For some brain tumour kids it might be they need to learn to walk again, or speak again but for Emilia her tumour and the surgery took away her sense of self and control. This is so rare that doctors in Boston and London are at a loss as to how to help. The medical system is not geared up for rare and this is why research is so critical. The more researchers can find out about brain tumours, how the brain works and can recover the better outcome there will be for kids like Emilia Rose.

For other brain tumour kids they cannot remove the whole tumour and so months and months of chemo and radiation lie ahead of them. For all brain tumour kids their lives are forever changed and 'normal' is anything but.

Emilia's tumour took away normality for our whole family. Emilia has not been at home since Nov 11th and is unlikely to return anytime soon. Emilia's sisters and brother separated from each other and living in three countries. The toll of this journey emotionally and financially is far bigger than just the 12 inch scar on Emilia's head. For now, we are all just putting one foot in front of the other and hoping that the path becomes clear and we can find our way. Please join us as we walk for ALL the brain tumour kids and their warrior families who are fighting this battle in more ways than anyone can imagine.

GOOD LUCK everyone, we can do this!
