Story
Call me mad but at the ripe old age of 64 I decided that I would have a go at a marathon… the walking kind!
On the 10th Oct 2022 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was possibly the worst day of my life and over the next fifteen months my life was completely taken over - eighteen rounds of chemotherapy plus immunotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery. Some days were the toughest I’ve ever endured but I have so much to be grateful for with my amazing family and friends but more than anything - The Royal Marsden. For all of the consultants, doctors and nurses, nothing was ever too much trouble. Their kindness, care and the time they spent explaining everything to us was second to none. So I want to give something back and with my daughter at my side egging me on (maybe carrying me at times) I might just do it!
I know not every outcome is the same but the treatment is improving everyday and that’s because of the research carried out by charities like The Marsden. So if you would like to support Abbie and myself on our 26 mile challenge along the South Downs Way we would be very grateful for any donation big or small. Wish us luck!
Many thanks
Sue & Abbie
