Our dear friend and work colleague Abide suffered a stroke on the 13th of June 2024 which has deeply shocked us all .

Abide is only 35 years old.

Nearly 8 weeks on Abide has shown amazing fight and resilience with her daily challenges and her recovery is going really well.

We have absolute faith that she will reclaim her life back in some way , return to being a Biomedical Scientist and finish her Masters degree that she was so close to finishing.

UPDATE: 16/2/25

Abide finally left Hothfield Rehabilitation Centre back in November after residing there for just under 3 months. She is now living in Kettering with her family , enjoying home comforts and continuing with her therapies.

We are so pleased to share with you that Abide has been awarded a bursary from ‘Different Strokes ‘ to go towards her physiotherapy sessions. We are blown away by the support this charity provides for survivors like Abide. We know it means the world to Abide and her family.

She is working hard every week and is continuing to improve week on week .Her resilience , positive attitude and hard work is making such a huge impact in her recovery .

With support , we know in our hearts she will get there ❤️

Challenge

Abide’s Angels - our team members are Gemma , Emma and Yolanda and we have set ourselves the challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on the 6th April 2025 to raise funds for Different Strokes.

Different Strokes is a small national charity supporting working age and younger stroke survivors. They work to support thousands of families impacted by strokes every year. The majority of staff and trustees are stroke survivors themselves or have a close personal connection to stroke.

The services they provide enable younger stroke survivors to reclaim their lives through active peer support.

There are 100,000 strokes in the UK each year with 1 in 4 happening to somebody of working age or younger .

A stroke is life changing but not life ending.

With your help we can make a real difference for younger survivors that have been affected by a stroke.
