What will your fundraising be supporting?

Alder Hey Children’s Charity are working to fund some of most cutting edge medical equipment to be used on the unit, all of which is not normally available via the NHS. With your support you will be helping to fund two specific pieces of potentially life changing equipment.

A Neonatal Retinal Camera - Babies who are born prematurely often have a higher risk of developing eye problems as their eyes aren’t yet fully developed. This new camera will be used by the surgical neonatal team within the unit to screen babies earlier so they can spot and prevent future longer term conditions.

A Neonatal Ventilator - Premature babies are often not able to breathe on their own and may need extra help from a ventilator to support their own respiratory system. Through the support of your fundraising we will be able to ensure our ventilators are of the highest standard for our babies, above that of those solely provided by the NHS
