Raising money for older people experiencing frailty in Herts

Raising money for Age UK Hertfordshire

Age UK Hertfordshire is one of the largest charities providing services to older people in Hertfordshire, supporting over 10,000 people each year. Our objectives are to alleviate loneliness and isolation, tackle poverty and inequalities and build resilience within communities in Hertfordshire.

Story

Our CEO, Mark Hanna, is taking on the Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for older people at risk of frailty and falls.

This is a huge physical challenge that will take endurance, determination and commitment.

But he will not be doing it alone.

Across our lunch clubs and community groups, older people will join the campaign in their own way through chair-based exercise and gentle physical activities that reflect their strengths and abilities.

This goes beyond one person climbing mountains. We are shining a light on the importance of movement in later life and celebrating every effort older people make to stay active, steady and independent.

We know that physical activity can play a vital role in helping older people build strength, improve confidence and reduce the risk of frailty and falls. Through this campaign, we will also be sharing stories from older people whose lives have been improved through supportive activities and opportunities to keep moving.

100% of donations will go towards supporting older people at risk of frailty and falls.

By donating, you will help older people access the encouragement, activity, and support they need to live well and stay independent for longer.

Please donate today and help us take on this challenge together.
