Story
In June, this year, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a neurological autoimmune disorder in which the body attacks the myelin covering of nerves in the brain and spinal cord. Symptoms vary from person to person. For me, it causes exhaustion, muscle weakness and spasms, unsteadiness and cognitive issues.
Since diagnosis, both the MS Society and MS Trust have provided amazing support in the form of written information, in-person activities and podcasts which have helped me to understand symptoms, choose treatments and adapt my lifestyle to reduce symptoms and progression.
As a runner, I am determined to stay active as long as I can and I have a series of events over the next year to raise money for these 2 fabulous charities.
My year starts with 2 events in October:
MS Woof - walk 50 miles with your dog for the MS Society
Challenge 135km for the MS Trust
In April, along with Sara Knowles, I will be running the London Landmarks Half for the MS Society
Finishing off in September when Gruby Barrett, other She Runs: Cardiff members and I will tail walk the RUDUM (Rudry Ultra Marathon) - 30 miles.
Please donate to whichever challenge you would like to. I would love to hit targets on all of them.
