7 in 7 for 7

Raising money for 7 charities

Charities we support7

Story

On 6th March 2022 I will start my attempt of running 7 marathons on 7 consecutive days to raise funds for 7 charities via online donations plus 2 further good causes (by the way of physical donations that will be collected in my village). So, 7 in 7 for 9 really, but that hasn't quite got the same ring to it!

The charities I have chosen are for causes close to my heart for various reasons and obviously includes the charity I work for - The British Red Cross; the others being Cancer Research UK, St Luke's Hospice, Cheshire, The Blue Cross, Police Care UK, Mind & The Stoke Association. The donations I will be collecting locally are items required by the Manchester Homeless Support Group to hand out to those in need and cash donation (collection bucket) to collect funds to support various community groups in my village.

The runs will all start and end at The Crow's Nest Cafe in my village and will probably consist of various local loops, out-and-back runs and towards the end of the challenge will probably be shorter distance loops of the village for ease of support runners dropping in and out to help me along the way.

I started running with a C25K group in my village in 2017; the physical and mental benefits have made such a positive impact in my life, as well as making life long friends via the village running group that fellow C25K'ers Kath and Ange and I set up after the course finished. This challenge is a massive step up from my previous running challenges.....the last one of which was the Chester Ultra Marathon on 3/07/21 which was 54 miles long. I just want to use my love of running to support those in need. .

All donations are very gratefully received and very much appreciated. If you would like to donate to support my challenge but genuinely have no preference of which charity, I would be grateful if you could donate to the charity that has the least amount of donations at your time of visiting the page. If you are a UK tax payer, please Gift Aid your donation, it makes your donation worth 25% more to your selected charity at absolutely no cost to you.

The challenge is an 'attempt' and as much as I am determined to complete it, if I am injured beyond it being feasible to carry on, I will have to do the sensible thing and stop....but this will be a worse case scenario.

Thank you so much for visiting my page and for your support. Love Alex xx
